I was asked to work the doors on a few occasions but my future took me elsewhere. Having to stand in front of a bad man many times whilst others came looking for him bought its own violent delights. This man knew what it was like to owe money.
Having also endured my own adolescent filled with fear and physicality it became clear I best get good at it myself or things weren’t going to end well for me.
40 years in combat training made sure it was the physical that came good, not the other demon. Karate, Kickboxing, Wrestling, Krav Maga, full contact fighting, they all equipped me with skills and I learnt to sniff out the jokers in the pack and trust me, there are many churning out the same old story that leak holes.
But the physical wasn’t the hardest part. For me the dynamics of fear were the toughest to overcome and in Violent Delights I aim to show you how I was able to control it, coupled with some physical drills that put you in the driving seat, give you the confidence to push forward.
I can’t promise it will be easy but I can tell you it would be worthwhile, so lace up your dancing shoes and put your best foot forward. It’s time to get going.
