A Tall Poppy. Letters from my Pa.

Two years ago last January, I received a call in the early evening from an old friend and training partner.

He wanted to pass on his condolences that my father had died. He had read it on social media.

I had no idea of his death. Blood family had failed to mention it. Why would they? My relationship with Peter saw him bully me both physically and mentally, abuse me (non-sexual), steal from me and wish a painful death on me. His handwritten letters, still in my possession, were filled to the brim with filth and obscenities.

It got me thinking of him, though. His dishonesty, the way he stole from people, the affairs he had (yes, I caught him at it in his office one day), and I thought, why not?

Our Factory, Our Father is going to be a book of some magnitude, so why not lead the way and introduce my ‘old man’ and his letters beforehand?

This isn’t written out of malice, I have none, it is not written for revenge, I don’t seek it. It is just an insight.

All boys need their fathers, just not one like Peter Morrell.
