Bullying is a significant problem that affects many people, impacting their mental health and self-esteem. From the age of five, I was bullied and beaten right up until my early twenties. All manner of boy and man would, could and did hit me at will, but by far the worst of the bunch was a skinhead I’ll call Joe.   

For obvious reasons, I can’t name the Liverpool gunman who came looking for the money my dad owed, but if we get the story made into a film (as we are trying) James Nelson-Joyce is an absolute match for him.

Simon’s journey is a remarkable example of the strength of the human spirit. Rising above significant challenges, he has devoted his life to mastering the art of managing violent situations and turning conflicts into meaningful learning experiences.
