Listening to the Right People

“You are as thick as pig shit Simon,” said Peter Morrell, the man I thought was my father. “People like you don’t write, people like you don’t go to college. Get in my factory.”

“You are a writer,” said my good friend, BAFTA winner, Geoff Thompson. “If you can write an article, you can write a book.”

I listened to the right man and From Bullied to Black Belt was born. More books followed and a publishing deal for my latest book, Beyond the Bruises presented itself.

Listen to the positive people, the people who lift you up, the people who have made their own way in life, and by all means, ignore the bitter, naysayers.
